Daily Settling rota for 2015
Howdy's
Well, as I understand it, 'settlers' for 2015 are myself, Clive and Angela.
Im going to settle these first 3 odd day's starting 1st Jan - after which, are we happy to run the following repeating pattern (alphabetically based);
Angela
Clive
Hugo
So to start off with, Angela will settle the week commencing 5th January, Clive can do the week commencing 12th January and I'll do the week commencing 19th January, and then we just continue this pattern ?
Angela / Clive, this ok? -- and if you want to predict your settling time table and see if it clashes with any already booked holidays then reply to this thread and we'll do some swap's.
THanks!
Cya
Hugo
p.s. infact, if any 'Settling 2015' rota changes / queries occur, please use this thread to ask and answer them for easily reference.
Happy new year all! and good luck on your fave donkeys!

Re: Daily Settling rota for 2015
For those of us doing the daily settling, here is a repost of this years rules as posted by Steve;
Champion Tipster Competition 2015
Daily Tipster Competition
This will run from Monday to Saturday each week, with the occassional Sunday thrown in when some of the big meetings run into Sunday.
Entrants can select however many or few selections that they want, but there is a change to the bonus's because of this.
The rules are relatively simple.
Just pick your horses and post them in the relevant thread. Don't forget to add your 'NAP' as this counts as double S/P if it wins.
Races are settled to a £10.00 stake and non-runners stakes are returned. You may back your selection each-way. This will be settled at £5.00 each way and will be settled at 1/5 odds for placed horses in all races.
Selections can be amended up until the start of the race, the THREAD post time will be the judge for any queries for late entry against the advertised racetime, not the 'OFF' time.
Each weeks winner will be entitled to select a 'NEXT BEST ('NB')' for the whole of the following week, this will be settled at S/P plus 50% if it wins. However, if the NAP wins then the NB is settled DOUBLE the S/P. A 'NAP' must be selected before a 'NB' can be selected.
In the event of a tied week, all those tied for First will be entitled to a 'NB'.
WEEK WIN BONUS
£150.00 FOR A WEEK WIN PLUS..............
To qualify for win bonus, a minimum of 20 selections must be made OR selections made on 3 days in that week.
£10 for each winner will be added to winning total. (if qualified)
TOP TIPPING BONUS
The minimum number of selections at any meeting should be 4. Non-Runners count towards minimum selection total but for obvious reasons will not count towards the bonus.
For each separate meeting where 4 or more selections have been made, the following bonus should be applied.
WINNING SELECTIONS
3 winners at one meeting = £50.00
4 winners at one meeting = £100.00
5 winners at one meeting = £250.00
6 winners at one meeting = £500.00 (if more than 6 races)
Through the card = £1000.00 (plus £250.00 for each additional winner)
i.e... 8 race meeting - 8 winners would net £1250.00 bonus.
PLACED SELECTIONS
4 selections finishing in a qualifying place position = £10.00
5 selections finishing in a qualifying place position = £25.00
6 selections finishing in a qualifying place position = £50.00 (if more than 6 races)
Through the card (6 or more races) in a qualifying place position = £250.00
Qualifying place positions are where the bookies pay a place, as per general rules.(I have checked with various bookie websites and these are the standard number of runners for E/W settling)
4 Runners or less = WIN ONLY
5-7 runners = first 2 places.
8 or more runners = first 3 places.
Handicaps with 16 or more runners = first 4 places.
If there is a split and both win and E/W qualify for a bonus (4wins/4 placed. 4/5. 5/4 etc) bonus goes to the win part.
END OF YEAR REWARDS.
1st - £5000.00
2nd - £2500.00
3rd - £1500.00
4th - £750.00
all other entrants will receive £500.00
Naps Competition
Entrants into the Daily Tipster Competition can nominate one of their horses as their 'Nap of the Day'. If this horse wins, the S/P is doubled when settling in the Daily Tipster Competition.
The rules for the Top Napster Competition are simple really.
Take the daily nap from each member and......
calculate the winning naps odds to a £1 stake and add to the table.
selections =
winners =
winnings =
profit/loss =
Non-Rnrs =
non-runners = returned stake.
Entrants do not have to pick a 'Nap' each day. But in the interests of fairness, a MINIMUM OF 50 SELECTIONS need to be made during the year to count towards the competition.
Only selections made in the Daily Tipster Competition will count towards the Naps competition.
The winner will be the person with the biggest profit (or lowest loss).
In the event of a tie, the highest number of winners will decide the places.
END OF YEAR REWARDS
1st - £1500.00
2nd - £750.00
3rd - £400.00
4th - £250.00
all other entrants will receive £100.00
BONUS
Number of winners x 10
Big Race Competition
During the year, there are many 'Big Races'. These are generally Group races on the Flat or Grade 1 races on the Jumping circuit. This competition aims to cover as many of these as possible.
So here's how it works.......
Pick 3 horses for each big race in the order you think they will finish.
For each selection that finishes in the position forecast, the S/P is doubled before settling.
The settling would work as follows from there.
1st - 100% of S/P
2nd - 50 % of S/P
3rd - 25 % of S/P
Add together and Settle to a £10 stake
BONUS
Select 1-2-3 in correct order and the following bonus will be added
Less than 8 runners - 25% of winnings added to total
10 - 15 runners - 50% of winnings added to total
16+ runners - 100% of winnings added to total
END OF YEAR REWARDS
1st - £1500.00
2nd - £750.00
3rd - £350.00
4th - £100.00
all other entrants will receive £50.00
BONUS
For each correctly forecast winner, total number will be multiplied by 10 and added to final total
For each correctly forecast second, total number will be multiplied by 5 and added to final total
Major Race/Festival Competition
On days where there are more than 5 big races or one of the festivals is taking place (Goodwood, Royal Ascot etc), whether at the same meeting or around the country, this competition will run. I think that covering as many of the big/major races during the season is important so this competition should help that.
RULES
One selection for each race.
S/P is converted to points. The points are added together and settled to a £10 stake.
Winner - settled at S/P
Placed(2nd/3rd) -- 25% S/P (3rd place counted regardless of number of runners, 4th place counted in 16+ runner handicaps)
BONUS
100% winners = Points total doubled before settling.
When there are more than 5 races covered - 100% placed = points total + 50%
END OF YEAR REWARDS.
1st - £1500.00
2nd - £750.00
3rd - £350.00
4th - £100.00
all other entrants will receive £50.00
BONUS
For each winner during the year, total number will be multiplied by 10 and added to final total.

Angela has no wifi for a few days. Can someone step in and do settling next week until she is wifi'd up again.
And can someone give Hugo a nudge too.

Re: Daily Settling rota for 2015
I will, Steve, and I have.
Dunno what the problem is. On Friday he assured me he'd do Saturday.
He leaves the planet sometimes it seems, elusive.
I haven't time tonight but will do Saturday tomorrow if necessary.

I have wi-Fi! Woo hoo! Can't believe how difficult life is when your other half blows up the router! Had to get a replacement from BT (Via India, of course!) which they for some inexplicable reason decided to cancel without telling us, then it arrived this morning!
Shall I do the settling for next week?
Good to be back

Re: Daily Settling rota for 2015
Clive's on next week, Angela - please swap with Hugo for week 22, May 25th to May 31st, when we'll both be away on hols, if that's okay? It does mean you'll be doing 2 weeks running - is that alright, or is it too much? If so, Hugo can do 22 on his holiday, between drinking and some further drinking, as is his way, much to my irritation!!MSC wrote:Shall I do the settling for next week?
